Upset stomach and acid reflux are very common ailments for which a cure can be quite elusive. Amongst the various causes affecting the stomach, is a bacterium, Helicobacter pylori Bacteria (H. pylori), which is notorious for causing gastritis and ulcers, and in extreme cases, it can progress to stomach cancer. Common symptoms include abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, and loss of appetite. In some cases, individuals may experience more severe symptoms like vomiting blood or passing black stools, indicating a bleeding ulcer.
The Discovery of H. pylori and Current Treatments
Professor Barry Marshall, an Australian physician, can be credited with the discovery of H. pylori and its role in gastritis and peptic ulcer disease. In 2005, Marshall and his colleague Dr. Robin Warren won the Nobel Prize for this groundbreaking discovery. Since the early 1980s, Marshall has been devoted to H. pylori research, even famously ingesting the bacterium to prove its connection to gastritis.
The most common treatment today is a combination of antibiotics, and agents known as proton pump inhibitors to reduce stomach acidity. However, these treatments don’t always work, especially with increasing antibiotic resistance. As of now, no new antibiotic has been developed for treating H. pylori since 1987, leaving the medical community with limited options.
McGhieJCG…A Game-Changer in Natural Remedies?
The McGhie Jamaica Cinnamon Ginger (JCG), discovered by Jamaican innovator and entrepreneur, Errol McGhie is a unique strain of ginger which has been hailed as a “potential game changer in treating dyspepsia” by Professor Errol Morrison, medical researcher and former Director General of the National Commission on Science and Technology. The McGhie JCG has been found to have a variety of anti-inflammatory, polyphenols and anti-cancer properties which have resulted in several testimonials claiming beneficial impacts on certain cancer cells (myeloma etc).
Case Study
A recent case study on the use of McGhieJCG prepared as capsules and marketed under the name ZON 100, reported promising results in alleviating symptoms associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) of which H pylori is a common cause.
These outcomes and the plant’s rich phytochemical profile support its potential as a viable natural remedy for gastrointestinal health.
Clinical Trial
A Phase II clinical trial, set to begin in early 2025, will assess the efficacy of these capsules using standardized metrics like the Rome IV score and RDQ (Reflux Disease Questionnaire) score to evaluate symptom improvement and possible H. pylori eradication rates.
What Makes Zon 100 Stand Out?
Zon 100 is a pioneer in the nutraceutical industry, being the first product to incorporate a patented Jamaican plant into its formulation. The Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) has officially approved the product.
At the heart of Zon 100’s success is Jamaican inventor McGhie’s discovery which represents a monumental achievement, as this special strain of ginger is the only plant in Jamaica to receive a patent and the first in the United States in over 50 years. The McGhie ginger strain has now been patented in the USA, 27 countries of the EU,Canada, Mexico and England with patents pending in Brazil and New Zealand, marking a major milestone for Jamaican innovation on the global stage. McGhie’s work has not only introduced a possible remedy for GERD but has also positioned Jamaica as a leader in herbal and nutraceutical research. His groundbreaking work is even being integrated into academic curricula, underscoring the importance of his discovery as a teaching tool for the next generation of herbal medicine researchers. By combining modern scientific research with traditional knowledge, McGhie’s innovation could revolutionize both natural medicine and Jamaica’s role in the global wellness industry.
Helps to relieve heartburn, nausea and stomach pain due to gas bloating) and acid indigestion Helps to keep the GI tract in optimum heath Helps maintain overall well-being.
The success of Zon 100 has not only caught the attention of health professionals but also educational institutions.
